Volunteer Services

The Co-operative Health Services Volunteers have been an important part of the Co-operative Health Centre for over 30 years. They have been involved in fundraising since the first day of the organization, receiving memorial donations and holding fundraising events throughout the year. They have raised over $750,000.00 to benefit the Centre.

The Volunteers assess the Centre's services to find areas of need and provide funding to meet those needs. One of their first major purchases was a wheel chair equipped van, which transports clients to and from the Co-operative Health Centre and to referrals, free of charge. This van is essential to many that have no other means of transportations to appointments. The van has been replaced five times over the years and the volunteers are now fundraising for a replacement in 2010.

The Volunteers have shown their broader community interest through donations to various foundations including donating a bed to the Victoria Hospital Foundation and furnishing a room for the Herb Bassett home.

In addition to fundraising, the group is very involved in the Co-operative Health Centre and give freely for their time. They willingly lend a hand whenever needed, encouraging clients, physicians, and staff to join them in the fellowship and community building.

The Coop Health Services Volunteers future goal is to continue their fundraising activities in order to support the Co-operative Health Centre's programs and services and to have fun while doing it.

Please contact Nadine Locke, Volunteer Coordinator if you wish to volunteer or require any further information about this program.
